Recipe
3 Ingredient Naan Bread
Feeds 3-4 people
Ingredients:
-3.5 cups of self-rising flour (Do not try to use regular all purpose flour or any other type of flour except self rising.)
-2 cups of non flavored Greek yogurt
-4 tbsp of garlic powder
-2 tsp of minced garlic
-2 tsp of salt
-1 tbsp of parsley
-3 tbsp of salted butter
(Optional)
-Shredded parmesan reggiano
Instructions Before Cooking:
Mix together the garlic powder, salt, parsley and Greek yogurt in a bowl.
Begin kneading the dough with your hands (we highly recommend using gloves). Once the dough is solid enough, just continue to fold and press until there is little to no loose flour in the bowl.
Flour a large clean and flat surface and break half of the dough off and flatten it as much as possible with either your hands or a rolling pin. Be sure to flour the top and roll slowly if you use a rolling pin.
Cooking Instructions:
Heat a pan on a stove at medium heat.
Start by melting 1 tbsp of butter and throw in 1 tsp of minced garlic.
Cook no longer than 1 minute and lay the flattened dough directly onto the garlic butter.
Cook on one side for 3 minutes.
Once 3 minutes are up, flip it and cook on the other side for 2 minutes. Once flipped, try to immediately add 1/2 tsp of butter and melt over the top. (Optional to now sprinkle some of the parmesan reggiano over the top. This is not traditional naan but it packs a huge amount of flavor.
Once the 2 minutes are up, bring it to a plate, cut it into 4ths and enjoy!
Repeat these steps for the second half of the dough. Please note that a big pan is required for this recipe and also note that each naan is large and dense enough to usually feed 2-3 people.
